A new iPhone technology presented by Ideation Designs will soon allow users to charge their iPhone using their own kinetic body movement to charge their iPhone. The company claims that shaking the Infinity Cell for 30 mins will give a dead iPhone up to a 20% charge and 3 hours of the shakes give your iPhone a 100% charge.
Although you may look slightly schizophrenic walking around shaking one of your hands continuously for 3 hours, but the bright side is that you’ll never need a plugin or charger to charge your dead iPhone back to life. This is a great device especially for camping, festivals,, sports events, tailgates and plenty of other similar scenarios.
So how does it work? The Infinity Cell uses body movement to generate electricity. The current prototype still needs a little work since it’s about the same size as a pack of cigarettes. The company has started a Kickstarter campaign in hopes to $155,000 by June 6th which will allow them to decrease the current size and create a better, more updated version of the iPhone case. Right now the case is only compatible for iPhone 4 and 4s, but a version for iPhone 5 and 5s is in the works as long as the Kickstarter goal is reached by the deadline. As of April 25, 2013 the Infinity Cell had raised just over $10,000 which is still less than 7% of their total goal.
